Looking to work on the core Skills
Grip, stance, and backlift – Comfortable and repeatable, ready to play both front and back foot.
Front foot shots – Drives (straight, cover, on-side) and defensive strokes with proper weight transfer.
Back foot shots – Cut, pull, and back-foot defence with balance and control.
Running between wickets – Loud calling, quick starts, safe turns, and awareness of fielders.
Shot selection & game awareness – Deciding when to attack, defend, or rotate strike.
Basic action & alignment – Smooth run-up, balanced delivery stride, straight arm.
Line & length – Consistency in hitting a good area (off-stump, just short of a length).
Follow through & rhythm – Safe, repeatable action with balance after release.
Accuracy under pressure – Bowling to a set plan (e.g., restrict runs, aim at stumps).
Variation introduction – Simple seam position (outswing/inswing), spin basics (finger vs wrist spin).
Catching
High catches → judging flight, soft hands.
Close catches → quick reactions, correct hand position.
Flat catches → chest-height with strong hands.
Ground fielding
Barrier technique to stop the ball.
Pick-up and throw in one motion.
Throwing
Overarm → accuracy at stumps, strong body position.
Underarm → fast, accurate returns in close play.
Team fielding skills
Backing up throws.
Awareness of fielding positions (cover, mid-on, slips, boundary).
Knowing when to run, when not to run.
Understanding field settings (where to hit, where to defend).
Basic strategies: building partnerships, bowling in partnerships, saving singles in the field.
Playing under pressure in match-like situations.
